Occupational therapy exercises for fine motor skills

Training fine motor skills is one of the most important parts of an occupational therapy treatment plan. Rehametrics has 8 occupational therapy exercises designed specifically to help patients regain lost function.

Virtual rehabilitation exercises to train fine motor skills

The Rehametrics virtual reality software provides occupational therapists with fully personalizable exercises. Patients will complete prescribed exercises while, at the same time, our software will automatically adjust exercise difficulty according to patient performance during the session. The more successful attempts each patient obtains, the more difficult the exercise will become.

On the other hand, if patients do not perform as well during the session, the exercise will become easier. In this way, Rehametrics will be constantly searching for the optimum level of difficulty for each patient. That is, a level of difficulty that is not too difficult to become frustrating nor too easy to decrease patient motivation.

On top of that, clinicians can configure the amount of time patients have to complete each task as well as, many other personalization options that, for example, allow healthcare professionals to modify the number of distractors that will appear on screen simultaneously, among other parameters. These rehabilitation exercises, which were designed to improve how patients complete activities of daily living, also include multiple levels of difficulty. Moreover, they were designed to train dual-task type exercises. That is, rehabilitation exercises that train both physical and cognitive clinical goals simultaneously.

Detailed clinical monitorization of occupational therapy sessions

While patients complete rehabilitation sessions prescribed by their clinicians, Rehametrics quantifies -automatically- each session to offer healthcare professionals objective information on their performance for each patient. In this way, while patients complete the occupational therapy exercises available in Rehametrics, our software will register the number of correct and incorrect answers and average response times for each level of difficulty, among other parameters.

All of this clinical data can then be used by clinicians to obtain an objective view of patient evolution during the rehabilitation process.

Main Benefits

Other than improve functionality using occupational therapy exercises designed specifically by our clinical team, Rehametrics will also improve patient experience during the recovery process making it possible to obtain better rehabilitation outcomes. As a result, it:

Quantifies sessions to obtain objective data on patient performance during each session

Increases patient motivation and engagement during their rehabilitation sessions.
