Rehametrics physical VR exercises are available in two formats, each with distinct features and clinical applications.

The patient wears a VR headset and is fully immersed in a three-dimensional environment. Therapeutic exercises are performed through body and limb movements, interacting naturally with virtual objects and stimuli. Exercises target range of motion, coordination, balance, postural control, mobility and endurance, within environments designed to increase engagement and therapy intensity.

When to use it: when the goal is to increase therapeutic practice and train specific movements in a controlled, engaging environment. Particularly useful for increasing repetitions, progressing exercise difficulty and maintaining patient engagement throughout the session.

The patient wears the headset while remaining aware of their physical surroundings. Virtual objects and stimuli are overlaid onto the real environment and interacted with through natural body and limb movements. This allows therapeutic exercises to be integrated into the real space, targeting reaching, mobility, coordination and functional tasks while maintaining visual references from the surrounding environment.

When to use it: when the goal is to train movement in a context closer to the patient's real environment, particularly for functional exercises combining mobility, coordination, reaching, manipulation and postural control.

Post-surgical rehabilitation of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand

Restoration of mobility, strength and motor control following shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, arthroplasty or wrist/hand surgery. Progressive exercises allow the load to be adjusted without relying solely on manual supervision.

Sports injuries and tendinopathies of the upper limb

Treatment of epicondylitis, epitrochleitis, rotator cuff tendinopathies and wrist injuries in athletes. Objective measurement of range of motion and strength facilitates the planning of a return to activity based on quantifiable criteria.

Hand injuries and hand surgery

Recovery following fractures, tendon or nerve injuries, or surgical procedures. The exercises help to improve dexterity, fine motor skills, finger mobility, precision and functionality in everyday activities.

Musculoskeletal injuries of the upper limb

Rehabilitation of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand following surgery, trauma or degenerative conditions. The system enables patients to work on mobility, coordination and functional recovery through progressive and measurable exercises.

Stroke and acquired brain damage

Functional recovery of the upper limb in patients with hemiparesis following a stroke, traumatic brain injury or acquired brain injury. Immersive environments facilitate intensive repetition of movements aimed at functional goals.

Spinal cord injury

Training to improve reach, manipulation, coordination and upper limb function in patients with incomplete spinal cord injury, tailored to each patient’s motor level and residual abilities.

Parkinson's disease

Specific programmes designed to improve range of motion, speed of movement, coordination and manual dexterity. Virtual reality facilitates more intensive and motivating training to combat bradykinesia and functional limitations.

Multiple sclerosis
